2005 Camaro
I've just heard that Chevy will build a new Camaro in the year 2005, all I can say is yeehaw. It never should have been taken off of the Chevy line up to begin with, but can you say retro woohoo, looks like it's patterened after the 1969 camaro and that's not a bad thing, being that it was the best Camaro ever.
This is where you can find a picture of the car.

I have a good source on this.
Now I do have a good source on this concept car, I got it form popular hotrodding's web site, I read up on it and they introduced the guy that rendered the concept, and it has been run through the people at GM, or it says on PHR's web site, now the year was a guess on my part admittedly. As always you can check out my web site at Http://hp-car.com

Chavy has said that the SS truck is just a limited time run, it's not a part of the regular line up, whitch indicates that something will replace it soon.

Re: 2005 Camaro
he was refering to the concept car that is called the "ss". not the ss-r that you are talkin about. but i saw something on car and driver tv last weekend that had the lead designer of the ss saying that he doesnt think that gm will produce it, and if they do it wont look or drive anything like it does now

Re: 2005 Camaro
Actually. from what i have.. and i have Mr Ruess Gm"s performance division director letter backing it up
the SS will be on the Sigma platform.. a beefed up one that can handle the 430 hp... and the Gto wll not be made on the manaro platefom for ever.. its a slap in Gm's faced to import the Gto from Australia..
the Vette aside.. in each division Gm will have a high performance car.. and the SS.. has been worked on for over 3years... logic would suggest you don't work a concept for 3 years.. the Soltice was started at the same time and its coming to market
It wil not be like a big ole lumbering Impalla SS of the 96 era.. but a heavier version of the corvette in alot of ways.. and i think 4 door.. but looks 2 door..
No company works on a concept for 3 years.. this last SS that apeared in the mag is a prproduction prototype.. and they even alludee to the fact that they will be making it..as i said.. remove the Camaro and t/a replace with the SS and Gto.. if you follow through its too logical to deny

Frankly I hope you are wrong, I think the Camaro needs a come back, not an Impala or a four door corvette. We're not talking prep here we're talking about good old American muscle that can't be replaced, but it can be redone to bring it up to the time, but of course with a more retro look.

But this does suck bad, the camaro is my favorite Muscle car ever, well the 1969 Z/28 any way.

It looks like a cool concept but why do they want to keep a solid rear end??? If they really want this thing to catch on they NEED to beat the AWD turbo cars in the 1/4 mile. And make the 7L engine an option, they have been teasing us with that for too long.

Re: 2005 Camaro
lol, i hate to say this, but the camaro had a great run, and will never be made the correct way again, it will got the way of the Malibu, and the Montie Carlo, and Impala on into the black hole of the front wheel drive life. Left behind are the days of its street prowlness and fast 1/4 times,we will soon long for the days of the big throty V-8's, instead, we will be forced to listen to the whine and asthmatic breathing of some V-6, and we will wonder how Chevy could ever FUCK up a car as great as the Camaro. but thats just my oppion based on all of the nameplates that they have brought back(not included is the tounge teasing 93-96 Impala SS), and still managed to fuck up. may god be on our side, and lets hope that i am wrong, lol , and that my friends is my

Re: 2005 Camaro
Um. Actually GM made the first muscle car if you want to get all technical and shit. The GTO. But if you want to go even deeper, the 300 letter series car was the very first real muscle car.
