where can i get a full turbo system any stage ?Freshjive_MX-3 12-03-2003, 01:19 AM i heard that i could look at turbocity.com, but they are under construction, and certain turbo to look for, or type for the mx-3? any info will be appreciated. babybluemx3 12-04-2003, 01:42 PM there's is not turbo kit made for the mx3 v6...except for tkt but i never heard good things about them and they are kind of pricey..everytime i saw a turbo in a mx3 it was all cutom made. firefly948 01-07-2004, 02:51 PM If you go to www.mazdamaniac.com , the guy put a turbo or supercharger, (can't remember which) in his car, you might be able to ask him. babybluemx3 01-07-2004, 07:15 PM it's jeff abrams site your talking about...at first it was supercharged and then turbocharged...the site only talks about the supercharge system..he has never updated the site and don't think he will due to the fact that he sold the car....jeff used a t3t4 turbo on his klde engine (mx-6/probe gt a-spec engine)...there's not to much info out there for us mx3ers....basically like i said everything is pretty much custom...I'm planning to use probe piping to do my set-up but modify it a bit to fit our engine bay... firefly948 01-12-2004, 02:48 PM Do you know if that swap was a direct swap like the KL-ZE? Or did he have to change his mounts or something? babybluemx3 01-13-2004, 11:58 AM all k series engine (k8-klde-klze-kfze . . .) are a direct swap...the only thing he has to change to make it work if your talking about a klde is the vaf sensor...everything else is the same firefly948 01-13-2004, 02:32 PM how does the klde compare with the klze? babybluemx3 01-13-2004, 10:00 PM klde = 2.5L A-spec engine, 160hp klze = 2.5L J-spec engine, 200hp the ze has more agressive cams, higher flowing heads and intake manifold, a 10:1 CR vs. a 9.2:1 on the DE...the rest is pretty much the same firefly948 01-14-2004, 02:34 PM What exactly is the compression ratio? I have been around cars for a while and I never really understood what it was. Is a higher number like 10:1 better than 9.2:1? babybluemx3 01-14-2004, 05:55 PM yes exactly..the higher the compression ratio the better it is...well in a n/a car it is...it's the same effect as shaving the heads of the engine...your reducing the space between the pistons and valves thus alowing a bigger explosion...more hp's...the difference in the CR of the DE and ZE lies in the pistons shape..
