where is the oil pressure sending unit located on a 2001 chrysler intrepid?

the oil sending unit on the 2.7 is beside the oil pan on the right hand side facing the front. it screws into the engine. quick fix

The oil pressure sender is located on the engine block (midways up), on the right side (left side if you are facing the engine). It has a one wire connector (I think the connector is green).

Your sensor is probably fine, but they are bad about leaking and the oil blocks the signal. I took mine off, cleaned it, and put some Blue Goo on it and it's just fine. No more oil light
