Hi Guys,

Does anyone know of an online source for this wiring diagram ? My repair manual is not specific enough. My son left the lights on for several hours and then tried to jump start it , he hooked the cables up backwards and blew out the 60 amp fusable link. We replaced the link but now there is no spark at the coil or plugs. Did he blow out the coil or ignition module? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks dblang

i recently encountered a simalar problem with my 89 pick up with a 22r, exept my girlfreind hooked up the the battery backwards. it blew the 80 amp fusable link and the 7.5 amp ignition fuse but the coil was ok. after about a week of chasing around for a used igniter and fusable link and the little black box that attaches to the coil mounting bolt, i got it to run. but i had to replace the little black box that grounds to the coil before i got it to start. im not sure what the box is even called .its about the size of a nickel, and im sure it would be cheaper than a igniter. i would start there. i havent had a chance to put the old one back on to be sure thats what the problem was, but im fairly certain it was as i had a in line spark tester on the number one cylinder and cranked it after changing each component. your best bet is to find a junker and replace them both like i did that should solve your problem. i highly doubt that your coil is the problem, as im still using the same one and the motor seems to run the same as before it was shorted out. hop ethis helps so you dont have to go through the sam aggrivation as i did good luck

Either Advance Auto or Autozone does, can't remember which and I don't have it handy right now.
