VIN decoding GS 340 California modelGS340CA 11-30-2003, 01:30 AM Can any one tell me if the VIN # for the 1967 GS 340 California model differs from the GS 340 in which the VIN 2nd & 3rd digits, to my understanding are 34 = GS340. I understand these are rare and unique that only 1577 were produced in/for California. Someone was telling me the GS340CA model used the 33=Special V6 designator for insurance purposes. Ordering a beefed up engine with no extras to keep costs down. Sounds like a CLONE to me...BUT?? I'm looking at a quote "Black Plate" 1967 Buick GS 340 California with a VIN # 433077108328 Any thoughts??? It has a '33' in the VIN...i.e. V6 Skylark. I have a lot of documentation on these cars. Contact me for more info...if you bought it. Musclecarhound 02-28-2006, 10:23 PM I also have a 1967 California GS and the Vin is "433" it came with a 340. I tried to decode my data plate even though it didn't come with many options.
