The first question... is the K & N typhoon cold air intake as good as the AEM cold air intake for a 91 Honda accord EX-R. The difference is $50.00 less for the K&N typhoon.

The second question... the stock motor in my car is an f22A4 can I swap in an intake manifold from an f22A6 which is in the 1993 Honda accord EX/SE... would this help the car to breathe better? I read somewhere that the intake manifold from a H23A1 (93-95 prelude si)would also fit, in your opinion which swap would be better, also which would be easier. Basically I'm looking for a cheap fit to increase the air flow.

I talked with a tech at a honda speedshop and he didn't have any answers for me.

the K&N will do just the same as the AEM. actually AEM has a contract with K&N to use thier filter design and the rest is just a tube.

yes you can swap the intake manifolds. i dont know how much of a gain you will get with either of them but the a6 and H23 manifolds will fit. the H23 would get you more gain than the a6, how much? i dont know

pretty sure. there is a guy on Accordtuner.com that did a H23 manifold swap he didnt say anymodification was needed

While I'm on the topic of the intake of air... I only have one vehicle as of now and that's the accord. Can you do a swap with the throttle body as well or would I be better off to get it bored out?

The only other mods I'm planning on doing, besides the CAI, throttle body and intake manifold would be to install an aftermarket stainless muffler or rig up a dynomax muffler (once spring is here).

I replaced the stock thunderpipe from the catalytic converter back with a little larger pipe and stock muffler. I replaced the old ignition system with OEM Coil, OEM distributor assembly unit, rotor, distributor cap, ignitor, Neioff premium ignition wires and iridium plugs. The air filter is a K&N, the struts are monroe Sensatrac and moog sway bar bushings. Last week I adjusted the valve lash and the car runs well. I'm only looking for a little more zip from 0-60.

The h23 manifold will work, but the coolant passages supposably do not line up. So you'll need the bottom half of an f22a6 manifold, and the top half of the h23 manifold - this is the best setup for the f22a1/4/6 motors for performance.

Thanks, I found out my model has an intake air bypass system, which means it has a dual stage intake manifold. I'm checking out wreckers to see if I can pick the parts off a wreck. It'll be a cheap mod if I can do it this way.
