Question question about blazer noise

Hi everyone,
My 2001 Blazer started to make a noise today, a fast speed ticking sound. I called my husband at work and he had me turn the fan control knob and as I did the sound got louder. It is somewhat loud inside the car, but most noisy when I stand outside. Mainly coming from the grill along the top of the hood where the windshield wipers are. He said to go home and he'd look at it tonight, but it sounded to him like the blower and I'll probably need to take it in Monday or Tuesday. The 3 year warranty will be up on Tuesday. I haven't had anything wrong with it until now and only have put 27,000 miles on it.
Does it sound like the blower? Do you think it's safe to drive tomorrow to take my daughter to work, about 7 miles up and 7 miles back? I get really worried about this stuff and don't want to make things worse. I'm sure my husband will tell me what he thinks when he gets home , but just wondering what all of your thoughts are on this.

Thanks in advance,
blazermom

Sounds like a blower motor, as long as the speed of the ticking changes when you change the blower speed then it is definitely the blower motor. It is ok to drive it this way until you get it in.

Re: question about blazer noise

The same thing just happened to me. It was actually just a spark plug mis-firing. I fixed that and added some EOS instead of the shit oil I had, the ticking is gone and it's sounding good again.
