My old s-10 baby blazer with the 4.3 only had a 85 mph speedo. But, when you would top it out, and let off the gas, and just let it coast it would take a LONG time for the needle to come back around. :alien:

My digital dash read 132 before. 129MPH seams to be a more realistic top speed on a flat surface. I've seen that number 2 or 3 times berfore I back off cuz Im scared to red line it, which is real easy to do when you go from a 31" stock tire down to a 25" low pro. I'll never really know my true top speed until I get a chip to tell it that I've changed my tire height.
'89 GMC Jimmy 4.3 4X4 lowered 7" with 16" IROC-Z rims and a K&N 14"x 6" open element breathing rammed air through the hood, stock exhaust manifold (I Need Header bad!) are true dual out 2 cats and 2 turbo muflers with no X over pipe. Side pipes rock! I rock! IROC-Z baby!
futer plans: 4.11 dana 44 independent posi rear with discs ('90 Vette)
tires for my 18" ZO6 rims
built LT1 with backwards intake to recieve twin turbos
replace coil-overs with Air Jacker bag / shock combos so I can finally lay down on the ground and rest!
I have had my 1999 S-10 blazer at 145. I have it laying frame, I have done all the engine work from supercharger to air intake system. It will tap the digital speedo at 145, before droping back down.

You lowered a 4x4!?!?
Ugh... whats this world coming too. Its a unwritten law.
'Thou shalt not lower thy 4x4'
I just hope you're making it into a AWD type hotrod, then its ok. But to do that and leave the 4x4 untouched... sacrilege.

yep, my 95 S-10 4.3L CPI (high output) cuts out at 100mph, feels like ya let off the gas when ya didnt. that sucks too, especially when your trying to pull up beside a blonde chick on the interstate, and the limiter kicks in and her and her Neon keep going and ya never get a good look.

:hehe: :smoka: Yeah that would suck. If that were to happen to me i'd be so pissed off too. When your limiter kicks in does it take the speed down to 60mph then you can hit the gas or does it go slower than that?
