Our 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan's cruise control seems to only work when it wants to. Just in the past few weeks when we attempt to use the cruise control, it may or may not engage. At first we thought it might be temperature related because it first started doing this on a fairly cold day, about 28 degrees outside. But since then, it doesn't seem to matter what the temp is. Then we thought maybe it was shorting out and that hitting a bump was causing it to disengage. But that doesn't seem to be the case either. Sometimes, it won't engage at all and other times we'll be cruising down the road and it just kicks off only to work again later when we try it. :banghead: Since it does work from time to time, we've ruled out fuse problems. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

I might be very wrong, but I believe you will fine your cruize unit under your battery bracket. There is a electrical connector and a plastic vacum hose. check connection and vacum nipple. Hope I'm right. Good luck

I have a 98 caravan and after reading tons of messages on this site, I found the answer to my problem(s) and bet it will solve yours, too. At first my airbag light came one and stayed on, then my cruise control was working intermittently and last but not least, the horn stopped working. It's a domino effect and a clock spring replacement should solve all problems-best news...it's covered by any Chrysler/Dodge dealership. Read this:
www.dodge.com/universal/webselfservice/pdf/B24.pdf

You can also go to www.diamerchrysler.com and look for recalls that have been issued and not performed with the last 8 numbers of your VIN #. I bought mine used and transfered the title, etc. The correct ownership still never made it to Dodge so the recalls were not mailed to me.

Another thing to check is the brake light switch. Have someone follow you for a bit to see if your brake lights are staying on or coming on sporatically.

Correct web address is www.dalmerchrysler.com

That is funny how one can easily make a typo error. The above is STILL the wrong address.

The CORRECT one is http://www.daimlerchrysler.com/dccom
