I'm looking for a Turbo Kit for my 98 Legacy L. It's the 2.2 engine. I found one on RKsport, but I think $4,500 plus shipping is a little bit much for it. Anyone else know of any other places at a little bit better price?? If not, how much work would it be to transplant an EJ20 WRX motor, transmission, and everything else? It's from a 2003 WRX.

well, nevermind that. I started reading how much was really involved with bolting up a turbo to the EJ22 and figured I'd be in over my head since i don't know that much about turbos and tuning. I'll just stay N/A and go for show...until this car dies...then I'll get a real WRX instead of trying to make my car keep up with one

Edit: oh yeah...if anyone else is interested in risking a mistune and blowing their engine, unlike me, then here's a link to the best price I was able to find. Comes with almost everything buy you'll need some piggyback management computers (GReedy e-Manage seems recommended, but needs a lap top without the $300 in car screen and controller), and some other stuff. I'm not about to get in over my head with it. http://www.importperformanceparts.net/imports/turbospec_subaru.html

go with a custom turbo kit, not very hard to do, and will be way cheaper than any bolt-on kit and you'll be able to ditch the POS parts they give you and get the parts that you actually want
