Angry 2002 Front end squeaks

Front End: Squeaks sound like shock problems, but comes and goes. Very loud when going over dips in the road Wet or dry makes no difference. Dealer has replaced some bushings, also believe there is a TB on it. Fox News had story? About GM buying some models due to this problem. Not getting solution from dealer. They hear it as well but unable to fix. Car is in warranity. Time to buy a Ford?

Re: 2002 Front end squeaks

Would like to get info on this as well because my 03 model does the same, but comes and goes. Got on bumpy road once and the squeaks were driving me crazy. Plan to give it to dealer this week.

its usually the upper shock bushing or the shift cable squeeking on the under side of the cab, gm has new design upper shock bushing to repair the shock problem and as for the shift cable make sure it is all the way seated in the white holder mounted to the underside of the body, also spray some lubriplate where the cable sits on the holder. good luck

Boothjr,
I had this on my Suburban, I tried everything known to man and nothing would fix it. Then.... go under the drivers side of your burb, the emergency brake cable runs through a series of 4 or 5 grommets made of rubber, take a zip tie and pull the cable to one side of the grommet to keep pressure on it, the cable goes back and forth in the grommet and causes a very annoying loud random squeak. This keeps it from vibrating on the grommet. It fixed mine. I had 5 shops try to fix it and none of them could figure out anything. I hope this helps, I bout lit mine on fire before I found it.
