Turbo Kl-ZE?

hey everyone, just wondering if there is enough room for a good sized turbo setup in the Mx-3 with a Kl-Ze engine swap.

i was thinking about getting the KL-ze, but its either that or tubro charge the K8 i already have... i wanted the KL-ze because of the proformance gains. but im thinking far off in the future... just to know my options... thanx

first of all a turbocahrged k8 engine is about the same in terms of power as a klze..except much more expensive and much more tuning..there's is the same room to turbocharge a klze because the external of the engine is the same as the k8 except for the intake manifold.I personnaly gonna buy this year a t3t4 hybrid turbo for my ze..but with a compression ratio lke 10:1 you don't want to have your boost too high unless you do the internals..jsut leave it like to 6-7 psi..so k8 turbocharged isn't woth it..go with a ZE and then turbocharge it..just my 2 cent

Re: Turbo Kl-ZE?

how much did your kl-ze swap cost? i want to do one cause i like my mx3, but i am looking into buying a rx7 in a couple years...i don't want to put a bunch of money into my mx3 and then not get it back out of it when i sell it.

a klze engine can range from 800 to 1200 $
now there's other things you have to change..first it depends if you get a curve neck manifold or a straightr neck..if you get the curve neck fine it will fit but if you get a straight it won't fit so you'll have ot buy a ms8 manifold or millenia a-spec...(about the same)..so add a 250$ for the manifold..then while the engine is out might as well change the waterpump and belts...add another 100$...klze ecu 200$ and damn good clutch (act z62-hdss) can range to about 350-400$$ installation..about 800$...for myself i threw a couple of other things for performance (underdruve pulley, shaved flywheel, pheno spacers...)..anyways..so for a basic swap it can come up to 3000 INSTALLED WITH A GOOD CLUTCH...but skip the clutch part you'll regret it
