Mechanic Trainning/Game....Rlong1985 11-13-2003, 03:07 AM Would like to know if there was a game out there suited to this; I dont care if it is a game but I want to learn to troubleshoot. Kinda like the game Life and Death but for cars...I think that would be alot of fun.......Does not have to have any great graphics, and I could even deal with DOS once again. Anyone know of anything out there for someone going into the Automotive industary? You know like a Mechanic teacher software or something....... crxlvr 11-13-2003, 02:46 PM that be a nice thing to have as a supplement, but in order to learn this trade you need to learn by doing. if you have a car, pick up a helms manual www.helminc.com and start by doing simple repairs, like oil changes and tune-ups, then start a harder job like brakes and such, then you can start to find out what things are and how they work. in this field you need to have constant updated knowledge as there is always something new to the market. but as for a program, i cant help ya, just get out there and play around with things. Rlong1985 11-13-2003, 04:34 PM Yeah I have done those....Just looking to learn the advance stuff, a place where I can go to learn the basics of the job just so I can have a understanding of it before I go off to WyoTech. I am learning as much as I can just have a desire to learn more... crxlvr 11-14-2003, 11:08 AM if you are going to Wyotech you will learn plenty, they will teach you the ins-and-outs of the whole car, but even still they cant teach you everything, when your done with the schooling, try and find a nice shop where the owner would be willing to teach you things as he went along, this old guys who work at these shops can teach you things you never even knew about. Rlong1985 11-14-2003, 01:04 PM I have found that there are few small garages that still hold a honorable reputation; I know there must be a few that would be willing to teach me but some are really slizzy. I will never go that route if I pick this field, Mechanics are not lawyers or doctors but they should still have the manors as one to there clients no matter how small the job is. Yeah I guess I will learn. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
