TJ gas tank/engine sputter problem

I have a 1998 Wrangler Sport with 95,000 miles on it. When my gas tank is around 1/4 full or less, the engine will gag itself when I take a sharp turn. I have to let off the pedal and let it catch up, then proceed.

It has been getting slowly worse each time. Doesn't do it with a lot of fuel in the tank. Do these tanks have a baffle in them? Could it be fuel pump? or Filter?

Thanks!

 check if your tank is indented,if not ,check the pick up pipe in tank, could be corroded,is it reaching the bottom?lastly,is your fuel gauge reading correctly/
