Post 97 Camry Aftermarket Stereo wit CD player

Does anyone have a recommendation for me on a good aftermarket sound system for my 97 Camry LE? I would like it to look as close as possible to factory install. Also, does anyone know if there is such thing as an OEM CD player for this car? Chances of finding one at a salvage yard?

I would say that your chances of finding a cd player for your car would be great, although the 97-99 Camrys have the "double din" cd player setup, which if that's the case in your car, you more than likely will have great difficulty finding one at a junkyard somewhere, although I do believe that Pioneer makes one that's "double-din" and I think there is one generic off brand of a cd player that will fit right in there, which I know that JC Whitney has at their site. http://www.jcwhitney.com/

Ah, I think the brand of "double-din" cd player that JC Whitney has is called "Pyramid" although I have never really heard anything about this brand, I really can't tell whether or not they sound good or last long, but I do know that they look like they have a pretty kick ass display aside from the stock cd player in the Camrys.

Check with Crutchfield. A few years ago I purchased a multidisk cd player with an adaptor that plugged into the back of the 1999 oem toyota unit. The unit uses the main toyota cd controls so theres no change in the face plate. It's in my sons car I believe it's a Panasonic 8 disk unit. Sounds great.
