I'm gonna make this as short as possible.

my wonderfully reliable much loved 99 Legacy L sedan's tranny quit working. specifically when starting or stopping it would 'fall out of gear'. after a couple of estimates for a rebuild we decided the most economical choice was a replacement. unfortunately the UNNAMED used-autoparts warehouse sold us a 2001 tranny. it stops and goes great now, seems as good as new except....

when turning, there is 'wheel hop' and the car wants stall also. (wasn't happening before, ALL new problem) we've been told that it needed a 2001 tranny computer along with it. this was replaced and it's still doing it. fortunately for us this 'new' tranny came with warranty and the warehouse is responsible for making it work.

at this point i can't help but wonder if we should just reclaim the original 99 tranny, (worn not defective) and have it rebuilt. the warranty owners seem to be passing it around and it's been 2 months and $2000. has anyone had any experience with this? please point me in the right direction.
