i've been think about gettin a Supra TT and i was at Suprastore.com and i was lookin at the 700 and 800 HP upgrade kits and it said without using racing fuel the engine was limited to a meer 570 HP (not to say that's not a lot). so my question is....is there any way to get the Supra TT up into the 700 or 800 HP range on normal high octane gas? Thanks for the input.

The simple answer is going to be no, you could spray alot, no2 and water injection to cool the intake charge, also a huge IC with a co2 sprayer on it and don't run out of the efficiency island of the turbo, but that won't get you to 700-800 i woundn't think. Racing fuel is a must to control detonation, anyway most everybody who has 700-800hp doesn't drive around with it, they turn the boost down and run 500ish mostly or less. If you want the big numbers, fill it up with C16 and turn the boost back up with the proper tuning.

no.
you will outflow the injectors and then your motor will lean out and explode.
stock TT injectors are 550cc which can support alot of power. With any single turbo modifications, dyno tuning with A/F is a must as it will determine if you are outflowing your injectors and therefore not getting enough gas.

the answer to your question is yes, you can go beyond 570 hp on pump gas. The trick is having a fuel system to support your power level and proper tuning.

if you spray nitrous into an already lean system you are just asking for a melted piston. try it and see.
co2 sprayers arent the method of choice due to the properties of co2. Because it is being sprayed onto the ic...you run the possibility of the gas being sucked into the intake. CO2 is a stable, relatively inert gas so enough of this in your intake will dampen the ability to detonate the compressed charge. power will be lost. nitrous spray on the intercooler is ideal. more expensive indeed but ideal.

Ugg  What moron would put their intake right beside the IC so it could pull in co2 spray. Shhsh about the nitrous, it was late and i was only thinking of it's ability to cool the intake charge not the fact that it's an oxidizer, call it a kick since i was talking about co2 and h2o. Anyway the whole question is FUBAR since the guy basicly answered it in his own post.

sorry mkiii boy...i guess you have no idea what youre talking about. ambient air is pulled in through the intercooler, then the radiator, then the fan at which point it is pushed over the engine. in the engine bay is your intake filter no? dont try to argue with the ricer "what if he has a cold air intake" because he doesnt. Please take some time to look at any engine bay and think about the dynamics of air travel. there are only so many places that the filter can pull air from. the fact that it was late has nothing to do with the quality of the post. I wrote my reply at i believe 9 this morning after 7 hours of work and no sleep.
And he did not answer his own question. racing fuel is not the solution

Oh jezzus, i'm being bashed over the internet..... what ever shall i do..... :loser: Yes "ambient" air runs through the IC and rad, then out the bottom of the car, i dunno about your supra, but my Supra still has a stock "air box" for a reason. The intake portion of the "box" is seperated from the engine bay by the chassis and runs into a space behind the fog light, seperated from the IC by a plastic panel. I believe he did answer his own question, he's searched over the internet and found a general HP limit on pump gas pertaining to his situation. Please, "mkiii boy", i'm 21 FYI. Had my Supra for 5 years now and I've had my Supe and friend's Supra's apart more than enough to know what i'm talking about, i slipped up and was caught by a troll, I only say this because a simple search of your posts reviels alot of bashing and critisism, even if the poeple were wrong, and not much helpful info adding to the site. Don't take this personal though because i've never met you in person to see who you really are. :2cents:

I apologize for the troll comment, that was wrong, and i'm sure you have contributed lots of useful info to the forum, but you do come off as a high-and-mighty ass hole in 99% of your posts :p

haha werd. thanks...no offense taken
i can be an asshole and i know that...and for that i apologize...just trying to make up for my slow car i guess. sucks having all the knowledge in the world but no ends to make use of it. i dont claim to have it all but enough to know what im talking about. thats okay though...turbo on its way! hopefully..
