What does ION lens do??

I've been wanting to get a set of black housed headlight housings to replace my "home cleared" ones. I found 2 types at www.autodymic.com One is the basic black housing and the other is with an ION lens. Now the lense looks kinda cool in the picture but I was wondering what exactly it's purpose is? Does it change the color of the light beam or something? If so, what color? I am currently using the PIAA Platinum Hyperwhite bulbs if that helps.
Thanks for all the info.

The picture I saw (thanx for fixin' the link Beyond) looked like the lens had a sort of rainbow-type finish on it too. I was just curious how that effected the color of a hyper-white light bulb?

The rainbow-type finish you're talking about is the ion lense ... It's supposed to look blueish ... If you stick a hyper-white bulb into it, it will still shine yellow .. just a lighter yellow ...

Yeah he's right- I Have them on my 6th Gen HB - they look yellow/blue/purp/& sometimes greenish - & @ nite tha light has a yellowish hue to it-- unless u have colored bulbs(blue/purp/green film) on tha headlight bulbs.. then they apear as that color looks...

I have Blue bulbs in- & they apear like a light blue/white color..
