Front Panel Lights went out after installing new stereo deckdmandave 11-02-2003, 02:36 AM Alright so I just got a new 10" sub, 500w amp, and a new deck. I installed the new deck and had to cut all the existing wires from the stock deck and splice most to the new deck. When I finished I found that the front panel (speedometer/tach/fuel) light no longer worked. Checked all the fuses, all good. Cant figure if mabye one of the wires should have connected to something and I cut the circuit. Current wires left unattached: Blue on yellow (12V switched) Orange on green (no current, possibly the spliced wire???) Green on white (12V switched, controlled by headlight switch, Fuse #9) Any help would be awesome, I'm a 17 year old high school kid who's just getting into this and needs a little help, thanks in advance. - Dave (rakeboy@hotmail.com) rollins097 11-03-2003, 02:45 PM there's a chance you may have cross wires somewhere, I did by accident once and some smoke came out from under the steerng wheel. If you pull the access panel off, there is a small black box, looks like a relay, it's the illumination control module, of something like that. you may want to take a look at it and see if it looks or smell burnt. This was in a 97 Legacy GT, not sure what your car is. Good Luck with it. 02legacy 11-21-2003, 03:15 PM I have a 2002 legacy and i did the same thing were you able to fix it? if so how? I whent to the dealer and they wanted $234 just to look at the problem. So I need to fix this my self and any help would be much aprieciated rollins097 12-06-2003, 08:03 AM I think the dealer wanted about $80 for just the module...I got it from a local family owned garage, who sells used subarus and parts, for like $20... even for the $80 dealer part, it only takes like 5 minutes to change...and if it doesn't fix your problem just take it back....if the module doesn't fix it, then they may have to look at it. Good luck with it. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
