Supercharging the 4200

Has anyone here supercharged their TB? I'm looking for info, and the only place I even find a kit for it is Whipple. I'd like the power, but I want some more info or options before I drop $4k.

Thumbs down

Spend more $$ for less power? I don't think so.

I'll swap motors in my 84 on a whim, but not in a 2003 TB.

I installed a Jet Phase I chip and never really noticed much difference (not a $200 difference anyhow). Well, the weather started turning cold and that does not fair well with the chip!!! In cold conditions the truck shakes at idle, and there is major hesitation and fluctuation in throttle response. At first I thought I had just bought some bad gas. Well, after running 2 tanks of Super Premium and dumping in Fuel System Treatement, it was doing the same. So I uninstalled the chip and VOILA...runs fine now in cold weather. I guess I will just have to box it up for the winter and reinstall in the spring....or maybe just sell it on eBay or something.
