first off,, any tips on how to set my idle on my hb? it dies at stops, i also noticed that it also revs up and down a lil bit. whats the cause of this? i just changed all filters (fuel, oil, air, pvc), oil and radiator fluid.

okay, heres anothe quickie for you civic nerds. :) just landed a full complete AC unit for my 91 hb for only $20! i thought it was worth it. came with the pump, belt, hoses, fan, radiator lookin thing, condenser, and everything else. will it be a big problem hooking this up? anyy suggestions from someone whos done it.

thanks in advanced

Blu, some one must have put your AC in because my 91 Std. didn't come with it, but my '88 std did.

As for the idling issue first I would make sure my cooling system (antifreeze) is filled and burped. That was my problem. Second, try to adjust your idle, and lastly, I would check the EACV, vaccum hoses, and tps (throttle position sensor.

thanks for the input. i did adjust my idle. idles fine. but my brother said that my tps might be going bad. is this expensive?
im not familiar with this,, new to the rice-rocket world. i was a jeepnut before i got my 91.
also, my roomate has a 91 dx hb. his shit smashes on my std. isnt it the same motor? is my 4 speed tranny the problem?
thinking of doing a b16 swap, but i really dont know how much work its gonna be.

by the way,
check out my rock bands new website,, its pretty tight. leave a message in the board, tell us what you think.

thanks,

gary

A DX has something like 90hp and standard's have 72. The engines suck. Most ppl are getting swaps. I have a b18b but it is more work than I thought, so I am either getting a ZC or a JDM D15

My JDM D15b will be here tomorrow. I got sick of the std motor. Even with the DX 5speed and ECU and 2 1/4" exhaust I don't think i'm quite to the DX's power because of that damn intake manifold. :banghead:

i agree, the std is horrible. why did you go with the b18 and not the b16? how much did you get the d15 for? that sounds like a direct drop in swap.
i met a guy yesterday who dropped a 96' dx engine in his 89 crx. would this be better?

I payed 650 for the motor and it is a direct drop in you just have to wire the MPFI and Vtec. I think the D15b is the way to go seeing that the dx motor makes like 107 and the JDM D15b makes like 130.

dx makes 102.....but $100 isn't a bad price....don't u have to wire it for obd1 or no?

Yeah it has to go to obd1 which isn't a problem from pre obd

but the harness to convert it is about $175.....that's why i didn't keep the intake manifold that came with the d15b7
