91 mr2 paint fading (red)

i went to the dealership to look at the mr2 im interested in, and i noticed that some of the paint is fading, will a good polish and wax bring back the paint's color?

it all depends on how bad it is...i havent had any luck myself...

The red MR2s fade ... its sad, but it is not coming back if it is really gone.

I had some luck bringing my red back, not perfect but it did help. You will notice the fading most on the spoiler they fade badly there. Part of the reason may be Toyota only applied clear coats to cars with metallic or pear paint. I know I'm repainting mine in the fall look at the bright side you finally get the trim painted like newer 2s.

fine cutting compound mixed with polish will bring the shine back.

yea it should be fine my dad and i bought a 1991 tbar mr2 bright canary yellow with major major damage with it sitting in the sun for a couple of years so we just had that day where we just cleand and polished and waxed the hell out of it and now its perfect no fading or nothing just pristine!!! ill try 2 post some pics soon
