Angry new rules for BMW

the rule makers for le mans and alms have made some new rules for the V8 GTR. 100 GTR's have to be built before the opening race, Sebring. in addition to that, the V8 in the M3 has to appear in 1000 vehicles. these rules are basically going to kick out the GTR from racing. there is no way BMW can make it. i am *pissed*

Why? Doesn't that mean better BMWs on the road?

a big reason would be cost. the engine was made specifically made for the GTR. making 1100 of them would cost a pretty penny.

i dont even think they will be back the next year. they are not competitive with the 6 cylinder. when the new 3-series comes out and the M3 comes with a V8, expect the M3 to be racing again. until then, i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't race ALMS.
