i was driving my 95 home tonight and a few blocks short of home i start smelling what seemed like a cross between burnt plastic and Im not sure what.. a few moments later smoke fills the cabin seeming to come from the drivers dash area but since it was dark can't be sure it wasnt coming in at other areas also. i reached home and turned off and pulled out the key. to my surprise the motor was still running! it did eventually turn itself off but the smoke lingered a bit as did the smell. saw some smoke coming from the corner of the hood closest the driver. Has anyone had this happen or know what it could be? ive owned the car a month and has 145k on the clock. all seemed fine up to this point. thanks for any help

I also have a '95, and this happened to me once, it was light out, and the smoke was coming from the steering column. i pulled the whole thing apart and couldn't find anything. It was almost a year ago and it hasn't happened since, but i would like to know what it was.
