Hi !! this is my first post.

I have a 89 corolla which recently started giving me problems.
it starts vibrating violently at speeds greater than 60mph. The dealer gave me some lame reaons. One observation :my front tires are bald.

Well it could be anything...but not that your front tires are bald. You may need new ball joints on the front end...or the tie-rods might be going. I also have a 1989 Toyota Corolla and I work at Napa Auto Parts and I get my prices cheap as hell...so pending on where you live (anywhere near Toronto,Ontario,Canada?) then I might be able to help you out...let me know.
