I own a 1998 4-runner limited 2WD with the 4-speed automatic, with 29,000 miles. I was planing to change the trans fluid and filter, so I bought a filter from Kragen auto parts. HOWEVER , when I called the service manager at my local toyota dealer, to ask when they recommended doing this service, he told me that my transmission doesn't have a filter, and to just change the fluid! can anyone tell me what is going on here ? My haynes manual lists the procedure in detail to make things even more confusing. Who is right Kragen and haynes , or the toyota dealership ?:confused:
