Storing during winter ... Need TIPS!LOK[R9] 10-25-2003, 04:19 PM Hi guys, I'm storing my 94 civic and want to know if wny of you have any tips. Thx in advance. BullShifter 10-25-2003, 05:00 PM Store it with a full tank of gas w/ a fuel stabilizer added. Clean well before storing You may want to put moth balls in & around the car to prevent critters Lift & support properly - tires off the ground Plug the tail pipe - critters love making nests in mufflers - also will use air filters as nests - chew them all up, chew wires, etc. Bag the tires - apply tire dressing & seal inside garbage bag or tire bag Carpet under the car / cover car Disconnect & trickle charge battery Change the oil before storing LOK[R9] 10-27-2003, 06:17 PM Did you mean change the oil before "storing" or before starting it again after winter? Miataracer 10-27-2003, 06:22 PM before ya store it... BullShifter 10-28-2003, 12:08 AM Acutally depending on how long its stored you may want to change it before & after. I meant to say change the oil before *storing*. When it does come time to start it up, it would be wise to at least install a new oil filter, pre-filled w/ oil. You do that so oil pressure builds quicker LOK[R9] 10-28-2003, 06:04 PM OK! Thanx .... Actually I'm storing it for three months. If you think of anything else ... let me know :P And thanx a lot Miataracer for not being harsh on your reply :p :lol2: Miataracer 10-28-2003, 06:30 PM lol... you are welcome Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
