Re: Stratus Who makes it?

yeah, the Stratus R/T uses the Eclipse's 3.0 V6 engine. (The Stratus is just 100% sexier)

Re: Stratus Who makes it?

i think you're thinking of the stratus sedan. the r/t is a coupe, and unless you've got a family of midgets, you're not getting everybody in... look it up. i'd take its smooth lines over the nasty body moldings of the eclipse any day...

Re: Stratus Who makes it?

The Stratus Coupe's chassis and engine are based on the Mitusbishi Eclispse. The Stratus Sedan is 100% Dodge / Chrysler

Coupe = 2 Doors
Sedan = 4 Doors

I did a lot of research before I bought my R/T. Chryco owns almost half of Mitsubishi. They both share a plant in Illinois that crank out Eclipses and Stratus/Sebring coups. 4-doors made in Michigan, covertible Sebring n Mexico.

Most of Sebring/Stratus coup has Mitsu parts. Same engine, tranny, even dash from the Eclipse! This sharing keeps the cost down for all three (hey, did you know that new little, cheaper Jaguar XJ is mostly Ford Taurus? very common these days)

Also, did you know the Stratus coupe/R/T was supposed to be called the Avenger, but becasue the previous Avenger...also a Mitsu product, was such a poor performer that didn't live up to the name, Chryco went with the more common (and familiar) brand name of Stratus.
