Two weeks ago I locked my engine and got mud in the cyliders. I have a 95 ZR2 4X4 with a 4.3 W engine and I am trying to figure out what I can replace it with. I am thinking about getting a junkyard engine or one off ebay, maybe even one with a trans and t-case on it, but I am not sure what years will work, or if I can use a blazer or an astrovan. can I use a 99 engine if one comes up? I am going to have to buy soon, because I am getting about 100 miles / quart of oil.

are you asking what engine to use? or where to get one? i woudl say get one from a junkyard and i woudl go with a 350 or 305. it should bolt up for the most part same as the 4.3. plus i am pretty sure you can aslo use the same tranny.
