Hello I am new around here, sold the old Crown Vic so I left the CV forum and came over here. Picked up a super clean 1979 Bonneville in central Florida where I live with 108,000 original. It has GTO wheels on it, and the rear fender skirts are gone. It looks pretty good, not bad for less than $1,000. Rides super smooth, no leaks, new tranny.

Just wanted to know if any others with 78/79/s were out there.

Still trying to figure out how to post a photo of it here.

I'm the owner of a 79 Bonneville too. I've had it for about 11 years. My grandparents bought it new. It had only 32000 miles on it when I got it and was in mint condition. I've kept it in the garage and in the same condition ever since. Its a great car. If you find out how to post it, I would like to see a picture of yours and hear more about it.

I used to have one, and wish I still did. That full sized GM platform was excellent and versatile. Cheap to buy and maintain, strong, can be made to handle very well and the cars are large enough to accept just about any V8 GM ever made.

At the risk of nitpicking, those are Pontiac Rally II wheels. While found on GTOs, they are not "GTO wheels" per se. They are (repeat after me) Rally IIs... Just trying to keep the Pontiac section ALL Pontiac... Argh! Argh! Humor...
