Found this message posted in a corvette racing forum. Considering that the team brought GM the championship once again this past weekend it seems like getting rid of these guys might not go over so well with us fans and anyone loyal to Corvette. Here is the message:

GM racing canning team corvette drivers rumor..anyone heard?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just heard a scoop from a buddy of mine who is a ferrari fan about the possibility of GM canning some or even all of team corvette drivers. The word was heard by someone at Petit LeMans last weekend. I guess there's some new guy at GM racing changing things. If all this turns out to be true, nice loyalty from GM for a bunch of championships and wins from those guys. I wondered if anyone else feels as stongly about this as I do.

Rons Fellows and that group are some of THE best drivers in that series. GM just needs to accept that they are getting beat, its not the drivers its the car. Team oreca's (sp) vipers beat the stains out of the vette. Gm did great while there was no competition and now that ferrari is in the mix and beating the stains out of them also, they can the drivers. Brilliant

well i guess time proved that rumor wrong but the guy who said that the C5R was egtting the piss beat out of them obviously hadn't watched a race in 3 years. corvette has dominated with the only exception being the 2003 season in which ferrari was merely suitable competition. That changed this year. The corvettes got better while the ferraris stayed the same. They only had a chance when the corvettes broke down or crashed. This hardly ever happens because they are virtually bullet proof and the drivers are top notch.
