FOR NO APPARENT REASON MY WIPERS, HEATER, REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER STOPPED WORKING. AFTER CAR SAT FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS THEY WORKED AGAIN. tHIS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. GARAGE SAYS THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE PROBLEM UNLESS I BRING IT TO THEM WHEN NOT WORKING. HAVE TRIED TWICE AND BY THE TIME I GET THERE WIPERS, AND EVERYTHING WORK AGAIN. NEED TO GET THIS FIXED AS IT RAINS A LOT HERE! ANY SUGGESTIONS ON CAUSE???

where are you located? what year rabbit? and is it a convertible?

i bet it is a loose or corroding wire/connection...
My 84 conv bunny has all kinds of corrosion problems and old parts. wires that caught fire. all is fine and replaced now. i have spent many hours replacing and rerunning wires. by the time i am done the whole car will have all new "TeRMiTe" professional wiring. yay me.

i bet it is a relay going or something sooooo simple you wouldn't believe it. as for the garage... they are dumb and should just take your money to tear your dash apart and check the wires.
hmmm get back to me

Its finally fixed. Its stopped working long enough for the garage to figure out that power was not getting to the fuse box. They rewired to the ignition and now all 3 work fine. My car is 1980, Rabbit Contvertable. I'm in Vancouver, Canada.
