When I travel 0ver 60 MPH I get a clicking noise from the front window like sleet or sand hitting it. I thought it was the rubber hinge covers flapping on the hood but after tucking them back ond out of the way I still get the noise. I have an aftermarket wind screen. The dealer has no explaination.
I had similar problem when I had a new front window in stalled on mine. The problem was the plastic molding surrounding the window on the outside was not properly installed, causing it to flutter at higher speeds making those strange sounds you described. Hope this helps ya.
I had the same problem. I took it to the dealership and they said they had a lot of people come in with that problem. They sealed the rubber molding around the front windshield, and I haven't had a problem since.
do you have manual or electric windows...if you have manual there is a TSB about it. the window to regualtor bolts come loose and make a clicking noise. if they are lectric i dont know cuz i dont have that luxury
My 01 has winter wiper blades and they vibrate at higher speeds I thought thats where my noise comes from. After reading this I think I will take them off and see if the noise is still there.
To Try And Answer The Tapping Noise Question. First Does Your Truck Have A Bug Deflector On It? If It Does That Is What Is Causing The Noise.when You Put A Bug Sheild On It Changes Where The Wind Hits The Windsheild. The Noise Is Coming From The Weather Stripping Around The Windsheild. To Fix It Take 3m Double Side Tape A 1/4" Wide By 2" Long And Stick It Between The Weather Stripping And The Windsheild About 6" Down From The Top Corner Of The Windsheild, And That Should Solve Your Tapping Issues!!!
