Aftermarket ground wire kits are the biggest crock of shit. They want like $40 or more for stupid wires. I made my own ground wires with 8AWG monster cable and gold ring connectors for about $10. They work great and are weather proof. I just cut the wire to length, stripped it, put the ring connector on, crushed it down, solder it a little, put heat shrink on it, than bolted it in place. Easy as hell.

brrrrrrr......wrong!

The real upgraded grounding systems like the one from sun auto are a very worthy upgrade. I was planning on doing this when I put my Zc back in my Si. Having less resistance in your electrical system will always help you.....anyone who has ever had ground problems know what a big difference it can cause

And using monster wire, or ANY wire that transmits FM frequencies for ground purposes on your motor is a very bad idea. Monster cable, and any of the other brand of audio wire are meant for just that....audio purposes. When you use audio cable for use on your motor, it actually creates more resistance, due to the fact that there is now FM interference.

Before anyone calls b/s or any of that nature....do some research on this subject. Its a very simple concept, and doesn't just apply to auto purposes. This is something that was actually part of my education.

FM interference. Where did you hear that crap at. Copper wire is copper wire. I'm an Automotive major and soon to be ASE certified and Toyota approved in Electrical System Diagnosis. Never anywhere in any manual that I've ever seen or heard anything about one wire picking up any signal the other didn't.

Resistance is based on temperature, wire thickness, and length. Aside from environmental factors such as corrosion of the wire there is nothing that is going to change the resistance of one big copper wire to that of another big copper wire.

And last time I checked things like monster cable was meant to run power to stereo components or carry signals from in-car sources, and had nothing to do at all with picking up radio frequencies.

If you can post a legitimate source to prove your point than I will believe you. But until then I have never in my life seen anything to support such a statement.

how correct you are, 4thgenhatch.

a wire is a wire is a wire. Just because you want to justify spending a shitload of money on some fancy wires with a logo on them doesnt mean that they are better :cwm27:
