Why would you need the stock manifold? It definetly won't bolt on to the 1G head and welding steel or SS to cast is not going to happen and not going to last long. So that means your gonna spend $100 or so (assuming you know how to make your own SS tubular header and you bought the flanges) building a custom mani to fit the twins on. Why not just get some t04 or a td05 or 6 then. It'll cost more but if your going through the trouble might as well have the option for more power. What's with the second post by the way?

Cool Re: 1ggte turbo conversion

hi
yeh dunno what happened wiv the second post i must have f@#kd up.
anyways yeh i guess its too much trouble then. i told him to get a 1jzgte but the manual gearboxes cost more than the engine and who could settle into an auto. is there any turbo conversion kits and if not then what turbo is a good recommendation for these engines? also how much roughly would it cost for a good turbo conversion and is it worth getting twin aftermarket turbos or just a single.
thanx

for which engine? and how fast do you want to go? and how much are you willing to spend. for the 2jz i say either a t88-h if you got the money and you will have to build your engine or t78. t88 has a lot of lag but puts out hella hp. you can also got with a td06 or a to4e which are good also. there is also the new one from HKS: T51R KAI. i dont really know about a 1jz but i can look it up if youd like.

Lightbulb 1ggte

Do you really need to swap the turbos foe the 2jz? if you're only after 15psi then you don't need to trade up. I know of a good mod that allows you to get 15psi out of the standard CT12 turbos from the 1GGTE. Basically it just opens your waste gates later so that the turbos spin up more by using some fuel line, a needle valve and a pressure regulator. If you want the full write up let me know.

Eight more days and this thread would have had a birthday, come on man! The CT12 is not going to last very long at 15+psi, I should know since I have a set, their the smallest Toyota turbo's I've ever seen. Ontop of that 15psi is not going to get you very much more power, they just run out of breath at that pressure. Save your money and upgrade them before you trash a perfectly good set of turbos and possibly a good 1g-g. The home made MBC, everyone should know about it, and everyone should also know that if there to cheap to buy a real electronic boost controller then they shouldn't be modding their engine period (let alone upping the boost with no supporting mods).

Question Help

Hey, I've just installed a 1ggte into my hilux, wired it up and all the biz However the thing won't start. It's turning over fine and the compter works in another 1ggte. It even has spark but won't spark into life. There's fuel but i'm not sure if the injectors are sending the fuel on. Any body got any ideas? The car is wired exactly the same as a mates hillux with the same conversion and even he is stumped. (the engine was going before we put it in) Any body know of common fualts with these engines that would cause the fuel not to flow
