X5 rear bumper removal

Does anyone know how to remove the rear bumper? I'm going to install the trailer hitch kit and it calls for removing the bumper and the mufflers/heat shields. Seems like a pretty straightforward install after all that is removed. BMW wants 6 hours labor to install! Seems kind of steep. Thanks.
