I had this same problem when i put in my k&n intake, $170 later, this is what i figured out:
my K&N uses an oil to coat the filter to help keep out dust and the such. some of that oil got in the sensor, and was causing it to act funny. all i needed to do was pull it out and very gently clean the sensor. this should help, another option is that you will have to replace it. you may have damaged it in the re-install. hope this helps
