Engine noise....G20RIDER 12-06-2001, 11:47 PM Is it normal to hear your engine rattle when u start it up in the morning and leave it at idle......rattles the interior a lot more for about 2 minutes.....then it stops when the engine warms up......... apintojr 12-08-2001, 06:24 PM i know the feeling. my engine does the same thing. I took it to the dealer and he told me it was the exhaust shields that rattle when cold. but i dont buy it. G20Rob3 12-09-2001, 12:04 AM I've got a '99 too, and it does the same thing! I got out while it was warming, and applied a little pressure to the hood....the rattle stopped. So, it's seems to be my hood. I'm going to try tightening the hood catch/release, but I'm not sure if that will do it....we'll see.... apintojr 12-09-2001, 01:22 AM lol.. i did the same thing with putting a little pressure on my hood and the noised stopped. it might just be the hood. but i also have a little rattling when reversing while its cold. do hear the same thing? G20Rob3 12-10-2001, 09:52 AM I don't have the rattling when reversing. Oh, are you throwing it into reverse from drive at about 50mph? That could cause a rattle!...j/k:D apintojr 12-10-2001, 01:52 PM lol:D na. anyway i think g20's are just famous for weird little noises. if u check the forum under maitence there is alot of stuff about weird noises. My car interior rattles a little during diff. rpm's. have to take my dash out and put something to stop from rattling. good luck with fixing your problem apintojr 12-10-2001, 01:54 PM i see on your list to do to your car u wrote down intrax springs. i would suggest getting something else. if u ask around u will see that the intrax springs are not the way to go. lots of peeps recomend B/G - JIC - and Tein. and if u dont want a comoplete set get ground control coilover sleaves with Koni or KYB shocks. G20RIDER 12-10-2001, 07:41 PM I tried pushing on the side covers(like arm rest on the driver side) and it seemed to work.......might be the plastic parts...probably try the hood rattle tommorow.....
