Performance Parts for 2.2 HO?

Anyone know of 2.2HO (185hp) performance parts?

Sites would be cool.

Re: Performance Parts for 2.2 HO?

Umm, are you sure you're in the right forum? The Grand Am didn't get a 2.2L until just this year (In the SE only), and it has nowhere near that much HP, and is not available in HO form. Or do you mean the 2.3L Quad4 HO?

do a frankenstein, take the 2.3L HO head & put it on a newer 2.4L block, but not any 95 model, something about transition year compatibility...it'll grow to 2.5L, supposedly over 200hp. SuperStreet had an article about it. the Olds Calais 442 made 195hp, the only year it was made.

buy a real Grand Am, a mid-70s model w/ 455 HO V8, RWD & 10 tons of US Steel. :flash:

I believe the V8 is just twice the cylinders as the 4.. The mounts should line right up!

Re: Performance Parts for 2.2 HO?

the Olds Calais 442 was rated at 190hp, it was called the W41 which was an option on the 2.3 quad 4 motor (LGO) the W41 came in the 442 then in the achivea SCX in 92-93. Your friend should go over to www.quad4forums.com for more info.
