Sway Bar Swap

Has anyone done the Caddy to Aurora rear sway bar swap? Is this a direct bolt-up or are mods needed? What year/model Caddy will work?

Re: Sway Bar Swap

Someone mentioned doing this on one of GM Forums threads along with urethane bushings all around. I just ordered all the Energy Suspension urethane in black from Pep Boys online. Would be nice to have a larger diameter sway bar in back though. Stock is only about 5/8".

Re: Re: Sway Bar Swap

That was probably me. You just need to order the 98or 99 Seville STS bar and get the bigger factory bushings or get the suspension techinique urethane bushings. Be sure to grease the urethane bushings if you encounter a lot of cold weather (if you go up in the mountains in your case) or the urethane will squeak when cold.

Re: Re: Re: Sway Bar Swap

Yeah, I've experienced the urethane noise after installing them(dry)in my Bug. So do you think I can find all that is needed at a salvage yard? Do I need to get the Caddy bushing bracket also?

Re: Sway Bar Swap

I don't remember if the old brackets worked for sure but I THINK you can reuse the old brackets, but if your taking sts bar from the boneyard there's no reason not to take the brackets and bushings since you have to unbolt them anyways.

Very true. Thanks for the info. I'm gonna start hunting around for it. I'll post results.
