I called my VW dealership and asked them how much would they charge me to replace flasher unit for Passat 2000. They wanted $130. I went to dealership and bought the part for $27 and replaced it myself. It took me 3 minutes to do it. Once you see the part you'll now what you need to do. Tip: First take the black cap that is below hazard switch out and then detach the hazard button itself (it comes off easily).
