I am assuming you are reffering to 1st gen S10s 82-93? or 94 for the Blazers. Have you checked abay? You can fing them with v8s on ebay for 3k. Check you local newspaper. I see 1991 and 92s in there all week long in good condition for $1500-2500. You will pay a bit more on average though for Xcab or Blazer. I just looked at the paper and there is 2 1991 S10s with 4.3 and they say they look and run great for $1750 and $2100. I bought my 1992 of an older gentleman for $1600 and it still runs awsome. I would suggest a 4.3 when your looking. But thats just me.

I have an 88 s10 blazer with a 350 4 bolt main, 4wd, 31*10.5r15 tires, american racing rims, body needs some minor work (rear fenders). Willing to sell for $1500.
