i was out with a couple frinds late last week and one of them happens to have a 96 non-turbo supra, so a race was bound to happen. We were cruisin down a wide open two lane in my area and we finally rode up to a light where both lanes were open. i know that his car can do the quarter in 15.2 (was at the drag strip when he got the time), so theoretically i knew i should be able to beat him. I revved to about 3000, and dump the clutch off the start and i pulled about a half of a body length on him through first gear. through secondi i added another quater of a body length, but we shut it down a little into third. by then i was close to a body length ahead of him. this seems rational since i got my new chip and my car was faster than his before that modification ne way. races like this make me feel good about my car, but thats only until i start thinkin about buyin a new wrx. i'm seriously considering a wrx, a wrx sti, an evo (less realistic b/c of the inflated prices), a g35 coupe, a 350z, or a used mercedes 500E from the early 90's. can ne one give me some feedback on the race and the buying decisions. thanks

Cant go wrong with subaru, bro :iceslolan . But a close second is definately the G35 coupe because you get performance AND luxury. I heard something about a Twin Turbo kit for it comin up too????

What mods do you have on your GTI? What motor do you have?? 1.8T?



The G35 is very nice! I like it a lot. The seats are super super comfy, and I just can't get enough of that analog clock in the middle of the dash.

it's a 2001 gti vr6 with 174 hp and my only mod is a garret ecu chip. until recently, i was runnin with a stock motor, but i wanted to be able to surpass 130. now, with the new chip, my car can hit 140 (mph) and i have some more horses to play around with.

i really like the g35 coupe, but the sti is so tempting with its awesome acceleration.

just wonderin? how could he theoretically beat you if you already knew you were faster before you added the chip?no flamin just wondering.
