Question I need help...

So I've got this 76 midget and i love her and all but she keeps backfiring and lugging like crazy. I've had it timed, checked spark plugs and such. anyone have any idea what's wrong or perhaps had this happen to them? any input would be much apreciated. thanx

Off the top of my head I would say any number of the following:

Bad timing, normaly to much advance, could be anything, from being poorly set, to faulty distrubutor.

To rich.

Clogged air filter.
