If it's a GS with the 2.4l Chrysler engine, probably not (at least without some kind of serious forced induction) That's a SOHC motor without much room in the engine compartment for anything extraneous. And it's no firecracker at 141hp. If it's a GST Spyder it's got the 2.0l turbo DOHC 4G63 motor. This is certainly capable of over 400hp, with relative ease. Go to www.roadraceengineering.com (http://www.roadraceengineering.com) to find out how.:2cents: Zero8985 09-26-2003, 09:47 AM the 2.4l in the spyder gs isn't a chrysler motor, just to let you know. It is the mitsubishi 4g64. The 2.0 nt that is in the hardtop gs is the chrysler 420a. Also, if it's a spyder gs, go to 4g64.com Black_dain 09-26-2003, 08:18 PM If its a 4g64 then go to hahnracecraft.com that's what I'm going to do with my spyder......unless anyone has had any problems with bolt on turbo's. blazingstar 09-27-2003, 01:52 AM the 2.4l in the spyder gs isn't a chrysler motor, just to let you know. For some reason I thought the Spyder GS had the 2.4l motor from the Dodge Stratus... I knew the hardtop 2G GS had the 420A (I have one, unfortunately) from the Neon, so my logic was based on assumption:icon16:. I wonder why they used a 2.4l SOHC motor in the GS Spyder, when there's a a 2.0 DOHC in the hardtop with 1hp less... If its a 4g64 then go to hahnracecraft.com that's what I'm going to do with my spyder......unless anyone has had any problems with bolt on turbo's. From what I've heard, cheaper bolt-on kits for the 2.0 and 2.4 GS (Spyder) sometimes don't work well with the engine as far as reliability. Hahn's kits however, have a very good reputation for quality and reliability. If your motor's 100% stock, go with a stage 1 kit which will get you around the 200hp range (with nothing else). A stage 2 kit would be better installed on a motor with internal reinforcements. Shpyder 04-02-2004, 04:47 AM The Spyder needed to be produced in turbo and non-turbo trims. Conertibles are about 500lbs heavier, so a non-turbo 2.0 ltr Spyder would have been *really* slow. They needed the 400cc's of extra displacement to compensate for the lack of a turbo in the GS Spyders. the 4G63 is a great engine...with all the bolt-ons available for that thing, you should have no probs making that car fast. 4G64's like mine are a pain in the ass if your thinking about bolt-on e-bay stuff... Shumyyal. Zero8985 04-03-2004, 08:56 AM based on Msn's specs, the wieght differences are very minor in most areas. GS - Automatic Coupe - 2855 Spyder - 2888 33lb difference GS - Manual Coupe - 2932 Spyder - 2943 11lb difference And the 4g64 is very similar to the 4h63, to the point where you can take a 4g63 head, and place it on the 4g64 to give yourself a dohc 4g64. And besides that, i consider any bolt-on enhancement from e-bay harmful for your car unless it's a reputable brand. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
