I Have A Small ConundrumS14Kyle 09-20-2003, 12:50 PM Hey guys, haven't posted in a while... But I'm back! My car died last night, I'm pretty sure it was the alternator because I jumped it with my mom's car twice and as soon as I unhooked the jumper cables after it started just fine, it would just slowly die. Anyone else have this problem in an S14, maybe 97-98 S14? This saddens me greatly... mynismo 09-20-2003, 02:40 PM how've you been kyle? sounds like the alternator... the battery just give you power, and the alternator sustains it. its not your fuel pump because it wouldn't start at all, and it doesn't sound like the battery... but it might be. id hook it up to a voltmeter and see if its charged or not. Hey man! I've been going through a shitstorm lately, but I don't wanna get into that. Anyway, I had it looked at and my belief was confirmed, as the alternator has bit the dust. 285 bucks for a new one:(. That'll prolong swapping my engine... Damn. mynismo 09-20-2003, 02:56 PM before i sold the altima, the starter went dead. 175, 50 core charge and 70 labor. yea that blows :sly: Suislide 09-20-2003, 09:50 PM welcome back, Kyle. i say just be glad it was your alt and not anything more serious. only a week and a half before i wrecked the Tempest, i put a brand new $300 alt on it. *flush*. JeffForSale! 09-21-2003, 12:05 AM I got mine replaced with one from a Celica i found at the junk yard, works fine  but the problem is you gotta know how to install yourself, and i have a 1992 Toyota Corolla, so the difference are obvious :p Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
