Best Head Gasket96HondaCivic 09-15-2003, 09:53 PM My new engine, b18b1, is about to come in and i want to replace the headgasket while its sitting in my garage. I want to know what would be the best gasket for it? S13GTR 09-16-2003, 02:16 AM for turbo or n/a? If for turbo I would just keep it stock unless the engine is built, but for n/a I would replace it with a thin one and or do headwork and mill the head. Now that would be a pretty potent non v-tec. This would be the time to do that because the engine will be out and apart. 96HondaCivic 09-16-2003, 06:45 PM I am doing n/a BiGwiLLswiLLy 09-17-2003, 01:57 PM then ur best bet is while the motor is apart have headwork done n get thinner head gasket....also u should jus pnp the intake manifold n throttle body while ur at it. 90CRXZCSi 09-18-2003, 01:15 AM get either aftermarket or try to find a JDM B16B headgasket. 11.8 Compression! :evillol: B16EJ1 09-18-2003, 03:03 AM get either aftermarket or try to find a JDM B16B headgasket. 11.8 Compression! :evillol: Actually the B16B has a 10:8:1 compression ratio and it's not because of the headgasket alone. 90CRXZCSi 09-18-2003, 09:45 PM yea sorry, i meant 10.8. And no, the headgasket wont do everything, but it will help. Ace$nyper 09-18-2003, 11:23 PM that would be good or i've heard Mugens are swell 90CRXZCSi 09-18-2003, 11:34 PM Mugen and Spoon are both good. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
