What Mods should be done to a F22a SOHC to boost HP's etc.EZ_Mac 09-15-2003, 03:04 PM other than swapping engines.......I'd like to add mods first and then maybe swap engines later. I have a 1992 Prelude 5-Speed, and am looking for some advice. I am new to the import scene, but am looking to up the performance. Also for in the future what engine would you recomend for it later on, to get the most power out from under the hood. If need be........turbo, NOS, etc. Thanks EZ darkaccord 09-15-2003, 09:58 PM It depends on how much $$ you have, and what you want to spend. But, if you want to get the most power possible out of your engine, I'd say go with a turbo. But if you don't have that kind of money (and who does?) go with an intake (short-ram or cold-air, it doesn't really matter) for starters. I'm not convinced that they add too much power, but they sound great. Then an exhaust would be the next step. That should get you a little hp, and make your car sound a little better. I wouldn't get headers if your planning to get a turbo, though. Finally, you could go with cam gears, that is pretty proven for power, but the disadvantage is that you'll get a pretty rough idle. There are more things you could do but they're pretty expensive, so I won't go into them unless you want. I would advise against NOS, because unless you take it to the track you won't use it too much. Hope that helps. 96HondaCivic 09-15-2003, 10:10 PM If you plan to swap within a year or so i would just save up the money and only do mods that can be swapped to the next engine, i.e. short ram intake .but if you think you swapping withing a few years then you can get like a cam, cai, full exhaust. KrNxRaCer00 09-17-2003, 05:32 AM first, its Nitrous or N2O, NOS is simply a brand (Nitrous Oxide System). cheapest easiest power is by far nitrous. quickest cheapest power... 90CRXZCSi 09-18-2003, 01:20 AM for the power, i agree, Nitrous would be the way to go (for the track of course). As for the street, get some cams, cam gears, Intake, exhaust, but yea...i wouldnt waste the money on a header if you are going turbo.... Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
