:banghead: We took car in to have bodywork done. They ran battery dead. Since then we have no radio. All that happens is the 3 equalizer lights blink, whether key is on or off. Anyone got any idea what happened or how to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

It's a factory coded system!!!, there should be a code in your users manual for the radio! it will be like 'one, four, three, seek, ejct' or something like that! (it's so if someone steals your stereo they can't use it!) Idunno who'd wanna steal a factory stereo but eh!

There will be a lot more factory radio thefts in the near future with what we put in the vehicles now. We install 6-pack CD changers built right into the radio as well as GPS display and DVD 6-packs on the minivans and Pacificas. These systems crank and are made by Alpine. Nice options to have if you travel alot.

ok.. now i am having similar problems with my 2001 neon. I bought it and the radio played with no problems. Within a day or two... it would do the blinking (both the display as well as the equalizer buttons.) I also can sometimes hear a ticking like it wants to play but doesn't. When it first started this, it would usually play the first thing in the morning, then if I changed the channel or \turned up the volume, it would do the blinking thing..... the channels are still preset and the clock still works though....????

Hi guys,

I had the same problems with my the 2001 Neon radio as the problems posted in some of the messages: Radio diplay blinks, equilizer lights blink, radio does not want to start, speakers click every now and then.

This is NOT a security code issue, as somebody suggested. The radio has some factory defect, which developes in 2-3 years of operation.

What I did? both a new Neon OEM radio from e-bay. A combo of Cassette & CD-player for just $125 + $12 S&H. I can recommend you e-bay seller: extremefactoryfx. The radio came in a factory packaging. The radio was BRAND NEW. Also the radio was made in Japan! I highly recommend you this seller. Here is the link to my transaction (the line is VERY long):

Do you know if there is any type of factory refund or exchange ... I know, probably not, but if this is a defect then the factory or Plymouth should replace my radio...or offer repairs... right?
And does anyone know or have the wiring diagram for the radio? I bought a cheapie cd/am fm radio and there is a pink wire that I thought was a 2nd positive as it shocked the heck out of me..... but there is also a red wire which is positive.... HELP.
