Unhappy No Heat!

I have a 1999 2dr. Chevy Blazer ZR2. I bought this car in June and just recently turned on the heater since it is getting colder and it only blows cold air.. You can hear it switching over when you turn in from cold to hot but there is absolutley no heat at all. Ironically the air conditioner gets extremely COLD! And I have never even dared put it on Max A/C!
The temp. gauge is fine and heats normally. Is this something that my husband can fix or will I need to take it in? Has anyone ever had this problem and can tell me what it is??? Thanks!

No Heat?

There are Three very common problems that maybe present here.
1. Air bubbles in your coolign system: Try flushing and refilling the cooling system.
2. The Heater controls: These are vaccuum operated. Listen hard inside the car when switching from hot to cold. If indeed you can here a clunk or similar sound, the contols are fine. If not, check the vac lines for leaks.
3. The Heater core: Do you see or smell radiator fluid inside you car, on the floor boards (passenger side) Or a thin layer of slippery deposit on your windshield? If so, change the heater core, if not, take it out and inspect it / replace it.

Hope this helps.
Good luck

Re: No Heat!

Just flush your heater core, Its sludge build-up from the DEXCOOL in your system
I have had to flush mine about once a month!
